Plastics, packaging + sustainability

Educate and inspire young people to take action on plastic

The issue

We live on a plastic planet. Every year, 500 billion plastic bags are used worldwide, each one taking up to 1,000 years to decompose. Experts predict that by 2050, there will be more pieces of plastic in the sea than fish.

What we can do about it

Today’s young people will be tomorrow’s scientists, innovators, shoppers and leaders. We need to educate and inspire them to shape the world they want to live in.

That’s why, at Unilever, we’ve partnered with The Economist Educational Foundation to create a workbook all about plastics and packaging.

The workbook aims to encourage young people aged 9-14 to think about the role of plastic in our society, why they use plastic and what more could (and should) be done to keep plastic out of the environment.

If you know a young person who could be inspired to take action on plastic, download the workbook today. It can be used at home, at school or with friends and is packed with ideas and actions on plastics, packaging and sustainability.
