Committed to everyone’s well-being
Campaigns to improve public health are part of our DNA as a business – our Lifebuoy soap contributed to the reduction of cholera in the UK more than a century ago, while today our Pureit water purifiers help avert diarrhoea by providing millions of people with 'safe as boiled' water.
We're constantly looking for innovative products, techniques or devices that will help us meet our commitment to improve the health and well-being of 1 billion people.
Handwashing, oral care, self-esteem, and drinking water safety are all areas where we're committed to making a difference, and where we want to work alongside partners who would like their ideas to help make millions of people healthier.
Helping people make healthy food choices
We have made a commitment to double the proportion of our portfolio that meets the highest nutritional standards, and help millions of people achieve a better diet. We've made commitments on the amount of salt, saturated fats, trans fats, and sugar we will use in our products – and pledged to limit the calories in children's ice cream.
Open Innovation could play a vital part. We'd like to work with partners who could help us develop foods which supply micro-nutrients at a price affordable enough for the world's poorest communities; functional ingredients that reduce the risk of heart disease; or foods that have a reduced energy density while achieving full satiation.
