Flip is responsible for Unilever NV corporate media relations. Besides specific NV enquiries, such as financial results, shareholdings and AGMs, Flip can be contacted for interviews with senior management. He is also responsible for communicating Unilever's work on global themes such as sustainable living (everything from reducing our carbon emissions across the product lifecycle to empowering women through our Shakti micro-finance programme in India), health & well-being (for example our work in nutritional enhancement) and innovation.
Flip is also responsible for enquiries regarding Unilever's partnerships with the World Food Programme, GAIN and Unicef, which together seek to improve nutrition and hygiene in some of the most impoverished communities in the world.
Flip is a communications specialist, having worked for an internationally respected public relations agency before joining Unilever in 2009.
When not at work he enjoys spending time with his wife and son, as well as running, cycling and playing field hockey. He appreciates good food, especially when it is complemented with a glass of fine wine.
Els de Bruin is Unilever NV's Media Relations Coordinator, based in the company's corporate centre in Weena, Rotterdam. Els handles brand enquiries, and is responsible for press events and media visits. Her job includes drafting and issuing press releases and managing the media during financial results and at AGMs.
Within the global media relations team she is responsible for the production of video content and managing the development of an online video library. This is intended to make selective video content we have around the global business easily and quickly accessible to journalists.
Els has extensive experience in communications. She joined Unilever in 1989, and has spent most of her career working in different roles within the media relations team. Outside of work, she loves to hit the ski slopes or go for a run. She also enjoys reading, painting and cooking – appreciating the importance of good food.
